Grab a cup of coffee and get cozy

Welcome to our Artsy-Bookish Nook

Where the best stories don't start with "once upon a time". They start with a child who can't put the book down.

For me, it was a lunch break I never wanted to end. While other kids played outside, I was already halfway to the library, already reaching for the next shelf: Peter Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, My Friend the Vampire... I didn't just read those stories — I lived inside them. I borrowed the books, but I kept the feeling.

That feeling never left...

Years later, I became an artist. And the first things I ever made were hand painted bookmarks — because of course they were. I couldn't stop weaving stories into everything I touched. Eventually that grew into something bigger — a small shop with art and bookmarks made for people who live inside stories, just like I still do.

So if you've ever lost track of time in a bookshop, or read the last page and just... sat with it for a while — you're in the right place.

This is made for you.

Plot Twist: We Made the News

My art and I had gotten some lovely press. The video quality is not the best because they were recorded from live TV. Can you believe it? It sounds like this happened "once upon a time in a kingdom far, far away", but it wasn't.

Interview on Mega TV

Interview on the show "El Poder de la Tarde" with Gricel Mamery on March 11, 2020, in the "Negocio Local" segment. In the interview, I talked about my beginnings, my art process, and my journey teaching workshops.

Klaro de Luna Art on Wapa TV

The Folk-Pop duo Klaro de Luna launched their new single "Me Haces Bien" on the program "Viva la Tarde" on Wapa TV. In the interview, they revealed the single's artwork, bookmarks, and postcards, which I designed for the duo.

Hey there ;)

Now that you know about my art and where it lives in the world; now it's time to introduce the "FMC" Female Main Character...

My name is Jennifer, the human, artist, and homebody of this creative space. My passion is creating functional and unique paper goods inspired by books, nature and the unique characteristics of each season. Every piece is designed and hand painted by me in Puerto Rico ♥

Here are some of the things that I'm into right now:

Current Read

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

TBR & DNF Shelf

TBR: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins

DNF: The Christmas Tree Farm. I wanted to love it, but the pace is too slow for me.

Preferred Art Medium

Watercolor & Gouache

Favorite hot drink

Just a strong puerto rican coffee with foamy oatmilk for me please!

Favorite genre

I actually don't have a favorite. One day I can be reading a romcom and the next day I can be reading a manga (I just love the illustrations and the dialog panels). Also, this changes a bit with the seasons, for example: in the fall I love reading spooky books and cozy romance. In the summer I enjoy romance readings taking in place in beachy destinations.

Favorite format to enjoy books

I just love physical analog books paired with a cozy bookmark that matches its vibe. I do have an e-reader, but to be honest I don't use it as much. My other favorite format is audiobook.

Favorite bookish accesory

My favorite accesory will always be bookmarks in any shape, form and style.

The process of art creation & product design

From paper to products

Most of the pieces I design start with a hand-painted watercolor or gouache brush stroke. While others are painted by me digitally in Procreate. It's important to know that every art is originally created 100% by me, without ever using AI.

Get to know each step of the process below:

Step 1: Sketching and painting phase

The process starts with the sketch of the initial idea, then choosing the color palette, and then the painting process starts, either using traditional or digital methods.

Step 2: Product design phase

The process continues with digitizing and cleaning the artwork in Photoshop if it was made traditionally. If not, I go straight into the product design process.

Step 3: Production phase

The final step is the production phase. Some products, like bookmarks and pins, are produced in my home studio in small batches. Others, like stickers and sticker sheets, are manufactured by outside printers.
