I'm going to be super honest with you, when I was a teenager, summer used to be my favorite season of the year. Maybe because it meant school vacation, traveling with my family, and going to the beach in New Jersey + in Puerto Rico.
But as I grew older, fall became my new favorite season — spooky books & movies + the smell of pumpkin spice on everything is just the best feeling ever. This past few months, as seasons passed, I started wondering why I no longer enjoy what used to be my favorite season... And it hit me, because as an adult with a full-time job, I don't have a summer vacation where I can just relax, unwind, and travel like I used to.
"Do you feel the same? Am I alone with this feeling?"
I felt a little sad that I let so much time pass by without doing anything to start loving summer again. So one spring afternoon, I sat on my terrace and just started to look at the sea and the sunset. I was just in awe of the beauty of nature and how fortunate I am to live in a place where I can see this magic unfold in peace. And there it hit me, all I needed to bring back that feeling was to curate a library of summer-themed books; this way, I could get lost in those summer adventures, which could inspire me to start creating my very own. So here is the list of books I think would be perfect to read at the beach and that will be great company in your summer adventures as well:
-
- People We Meet on Vacation: This book is perfect if you want to escape reality for a bit and just imagine every destination mentioned in the book. If you love stories about friends turned lovers, this is for you.
- Our Perfect Storm: A book that will make you fall in love again with love, with a friends-to-lovers trope.
- Don't Call It Art: Great book to jumpstart your creativity.
I hope you love these book recs. They are beautiful books.
